Our most chosen package, the classical Prasava Raksha unfolds in full.
Healing for Mothers,
Happiness for Babies.
Authentic Ayurvedic Postnatal Care at Kakkanat. Led by doctors, rooted in hospitality, only three private villas, undivided attention, and a calm that feels like home.

“Care is not about doing many things; it's about doing the right things.”
At Kakkanat, healing is unhurried. Every oil, every meal, every gentle hand on a mother's shoulder is chosen with intention, shaped by classical Ayurveda and softened by quiet hospitality.
We host only three private villas at a time. Not because we cannot expand, but because undivided attention cannot be scaled.

Classical therapies, chosen for you.
These are the Ayurvedic postnatal treatments we practise at Kakkanat, Kerala. Each is prepared in-house, each performed by experienced hands.
Abhyangam
Full-body warm oil massage that restores strength and calms the nervous system.
Steam Bath
Herbal steam that opens channels, eases stiffness and aids deep relaxation.
Kizhi
Warm herbal poultices pressed over the body: Ela Kizhi with fresh medicinal leaves to relieve aches, or Njavara Kizhi with medicated rice cooked in herbal milk for deep tissue nourishment. The doctor chooses what suits your recovery.
Pichu
Warm medicated oil held over specific areas with soft cloth, for focused healing.
Udhwarthanam
Herbal powder massage that tones the body and supports healthy circulation.
Dhara
A continuous warm stream poured over the body: Kashaya Dhara with herbal decoction for strength and healing, or Thakra Dhara with medicated buttermilk for calm sleep and a settled mind.
Vethu Kuli (Herbal Bath)
Bathing water boiled with medicinal leaves, a daily ritual of Prasava Raksha.
Abdomen Bandaging
Traditional belly binding that supports the womb and helps the abdomen regain shape.
Dhoopanam (Hair Fumigation)
Gentle herbal smoke for the hair, keeping it dry, fragrant and healthy.
No fixed templates.
We don't follow a standard treatment chart. Your plan is curated only after our doctor consults with you, based on your health condition, type of delivery, strength, and the package you choose. Some therapies are included; some are best avoided in your case. That's why everything at Kakkanat is personalised.
Three quiet cottages, held for one family at a time.
A standalone villa for every mother, set in green grounds. Modest in detail, generous in light, and entirely yours for the length of your stay.
